Bravo! Absolutely awesome. I’ve got a large shop…an attached, heated garage that has been added onto, making it about 2000 square feet (it’s 2 cars deep and 3 wide). The wall shared with the house bumps out about 3 inches where the contractor started the addition. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why they didn’t make it flush, but I bought it this way. It’s always been an ugly area. I too, love Stargate Atlantis decor and thought the area I mentioned would be a perfect place to build a replica chicklet light. I had no idea that’s what they were called…I just did a search for Stargate lighting and found your replica. Odd to think someone else has already done this. The construction all looks very straight-forward and I’ve got a whole shop full of tools to help. I only have one question…I’ve searched everywhere for acrylic block to make the “chicklets” and can’t find anything even remotely close. I was about to custom order acrylic shapes from a plastics company online but thought I’d take a chance on asking where you got your chicklets?

Hello Aaron . To answer your question – The acrylic crystals i am using are from original Lights i got my hands on 😉 during an auction – i ended up snatching 8 of the 12feet lights… i plan on building a home theater one day will use them then…
But i have gotten some crystals Made by going to a local Glass Shop – The guy there has been cutting glass for 30 some odd years he cut a few for me – but you should know they ended up being $35/each..however there is an cheaper way to manufacture these..
You could use a Mold to copy an original – they have stuff that can create clear acrylic like stuff Once you get the basic mold making out of the way it can be very easy to make copies of this stuff.. – check this out

Your Space – – Sounds like you have the PERFECT space .. for a theater there if it has air and maybe can made into a smaller room for a theater or something else like a hang out Den…
Lets see what you can create… ..

Wicked cool. I can’t believe you have ORIGINAL lights from the set! Lucky dog! Thanks for your quick response. I thought about casting. I made replica bakelight knobs for a car restoration and they came out perfect. My wife came home last night with some LED string lights that allow you to select colors. I think I’ll design my own chicklets so the LEDs plug into the back of each. On vacation for a few weeks, but I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for your advice and links!!!

Good Luck Bro – This guy did a home theater after Atlantis — the design is amazing they used something else for the Chicklets take a look at the pics — Look at the Door Pics they took something totally different –even though the light doesn’t reflect they still do the trick … http://planetoddity.com/stargate-atlantis-home-theater-truly-sci-fi-pleasure/
P.S your chicket should be made apart – if you install the light within each chicket, if light goes bad then you will have to take everything apart.
Crystals in the front and the lights on another board behind the chickets .. this way lights can be easily replaced without .. messing up the entire light….
Lets see what you going to cook !
